Coronado is a coastal city and resort area located just one hour from the city. The place has slowly turned into a complete city complete with supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, and other businesses . You don’t want to visit Coronado for the beach, there are better beaches to choose from. What you really want to go there for is all the fun activities Coronado has to offer.
The Coronado souvenir shop sells all kinds fascinating items, from replica maps used by the pirates during 1691 to 1693, to necklaces made by indian artists. Don’t expect to learn much about Panama here. In fact, Coronado is more Americanized than any beach in Panama. Still, if you’re looking for nice golf courses, try Coronado Golf and Resort. It is still under construction, but open to the public. If you don’t like the beach and prefer something more along the lines of a pool, the Coronado Beach Resort is great for you or the whole family.
This coastal city is clean, safe, but it can be rather expensive in some parts of Coronado. You might want to stop by El Rey, the local super market in Coronado and buy your own food before spending too much money on restaurants. You won’t find anything different when it comes to food, so you might want to think of making a nice menu when you’re going there. Coronado is also known for being quite exclusive. Don’t feel surprised if the guards ask you a couple of questions at the entrance. Not the best beach in Panama, but definitely worth a stay if you’re into family fun.

Located in Coronado, 83 kms from the City of Panama and sitting along the pacific ocean, Hotel Coronado is a great resort for you or the whole family. There is so much to do at Hotel Coronado and there’s just 24 hours in a day, you won’t have time to try all of them. Don’t worry about feeling disappointed though, you’ll probably end up doing enough.
Everything is rather pricey at Hotel Coronado, but you’re definitely treated like a movie star no matter where you come from. If you’re a guest at the resort, chances are you’’ll never have a problem with any of the employees. All of them seem to be very helpful and have amazing customer service skills.
After leaving your stuff at the room, you might want to try out the spa which offers all types of therapy certified by the Upledger International Institute in Latin America. The sauna is quite relaxing and satisfying, you don’t want to miss out on that, no matter what happens. If you’re into pilates, Hotel Coronado has one of the best pilates instructors in Panama.
Another activity you might want to try out is a chocolate massage, quite pricey but definitely worth every dime. You got the pools in the back part of the resort but try sticking to exotic activities and then perhaps the pool later on.
Coronado is considered in a way, “exclusive” in Panama, so you should expect spending a little more money than planned. Other than that, Hotel Coronado is a great place.
